Air Conditioning Systems The science of air conditioning (of which refrigeration is an inseparable part, defined as “the transfer of heat from a place where it is not wanted to a place where it is unobjectionable”) is not as steeped in history but nonetheless has its base origins associated with the fundamental thermodynamic work of Boyle, Carnot and others in the 17th and 18th centuries. |

However, air conditioning as a science applied to practical engineering owes much to the pioneering work of Willis Carrier in the U.S.A. at the beginning of the last century. It was he that first developed the Psychometric Chart in 1906 followed by Mollier in 1923 that led the way to modern air conditioning methods and products that we see today. The equipment comes as fully packaged, split or modular using direct expansion ozone friendly refrigerants or chilled water as the cooling medium. Interconnecting pipework is run in copper or steel as appropriate, along with all necessary system controls, insulation, accessories and control/power-cabling etc. Investment in an Air Conditioning System does not cost, it pays. |
